Tonight (24th March) is our final rehearsal this term and also the play-through of Bruch’s 1st Symphony and Peter’s Beethoven piano sonata arrangement. Don’t forget to return any parts you’ve had away for practicing!
We will re-start for our summer term on Monday 28th April.
The first three weeks of the summer term (28/4, 5/5 and 12/5) will be conducted by our leader and deputy conductor Raymond Hon, as Peter has commitments in London. We will be playing:
• Rossini’s Overture to “The Barber of Seville”
• J Strauss’s Overture to “Die Fledermaus
• Beethoven’s 1st Symphony
We will then have a week off on the 19th May (Victoria Day) before resuming on the Monday 26th May with Peter and playing:
• Beethoven’s 6th Symphony ‘The Pastoral’
• Mendelssohn’s Overture “The Hebrides”
• Ramsay Kay: Cioch na H-Oighe’ Overture, op. 5
We’ll play those pieces on the 2nd and 9th June before breaking for the summer.
Come and join us!
